Ed Maverick, born Eduardo Hernández Saucedo, is a Mexican singer-songwriter who rose from independent SoundCloud releases to become a Latin Grammy-winning artist and a leading figure in Mexico’s indie music scene. After his early compositions Acurrucar and Fuentes de Ortiz gained significant traction on SoundCloud, Ed Maverick secured a record deal with Universal Music Mexico in 2018. His debut mixtape, Mix Pa Llorar En Tu Cuarto, released that same year and featuring the breakout hit Fuentes de Ortiz, quickly achieved commercial success. Following its reissue after his official signing with Universal Music Mexico in March 2019, the album surged to number two on the Mexican albums chart.
Mavericks global presence expanded significantly with a performance at the prestigious Coachella music festival in April 2022. That July, he was honored with his second Paco Martín Award for ‘Breakthrough Artist of Global Music’ and simultaneously announced his highly anticipated first world tour, ‘Tour Eduardo.’ Demonstrating his enduring commercial success and international appeal, Maverick has accumulated over 1.1 million certified album-equivalent units globally as of March 2025. His most recent work includes the release of ‘La nube en el jardín’ in 2024, continuing to build on a career marked by groundbreaking achievements and a unique artistic vision.
