Cky

CKY is an American rock band that originated in West Chester, Pennsylvania, in early 1998. The band’s core members traditionally included Deron Miller on guitar and lead vocals, Chad I Ginsburg on lead guitar, and Jess Margera on drums. CKY quickly gained recognition through its connection with the CKY video series, produced by Jess Margera’s brother, skateboarder Bam Margera. This association provided the band with a platform for their music, which was frequently featured in the CKY videos and later in television series like “Jackass” and “Viva La Bam.”

The band’s debut albums, “Volume 1” and “Volume 2,” were released in February 1999. Following these releases, CKY signed with Island/Def Jam, leading to the release of their second album, “Infiltrate•Destroy•Rebuild,” in 2002. This album marked CKY’s first appearance on the US Billboard 200, reaching number 99, and also charted on the UK Albums Chart. The single “Flesh into Gear” from this album entered the US Mainstream Rock Top 40. Their subsequent album, “An Answer Can Be Found” (2005), achieved further commercial success, peaking at number 35 on the Billboard 200. In 2006, CKY signed with Roadrunner Records and released “Carver City” in 2009, which reached number 46 on the Billboard 200 and ranked high on hard rock and rock album charts.

Over the years, CKY has experienced lineup changes and periods of hiatus. Following Deron Miller’s departure in 2011, Chad I Ginsburg assumed lead vocal duties, and the band signed with Entertainment One Music to release “The Phoenix” in 2017. This album charted on the Independent Albums chart. CKY has consistently toured, performing at festivals such as Warped Tour and Sonisphere, and supporting major acts like Metallica, and HIM. The band continues to record new material, with a forthcoming sixth studio album titled “New Reason to Dream” confirmed.
