Ded

Ded, a nu-metal band originating from Tempe, Arizona, was formed in 2016 by members from Southwest rock bands Greeley Estates and Man Made Machine. The band’s initial lineup included Joe Cotela on lead vocals, Matt Reinhard on drums, Kyle Koelsch on bass, and David Ludlow on guitars. Their emergence followed the dissolution of the band The Cover Up, which eventually led to Man Made Machine before the formation of Ded. This background provided the band with an established base of musicians with prior industry experience. They quickly gained traction in the hard rock community.

In December 2016, Ded released their debut track “FMFY” accompanied by a music video. This was followed by their second single, “Anti-Everything,” in February 2017, which premiered exclusively on Sirius XM Octane and reached No. 18 on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart by May 2017. Their debut album, “Mis-An-Thrope,” was released on July 21, 2017, via Suretone Records. The band actively toured, supporting acts such as Korn and Stone Sour on the Serenity of Summer Tour in 2017. They also participated in various rock festivals, including Carolina Rebellion, Rock on the Range, Rocklahoma, and Chicago Open Air, establishing their presence within the live music circuit.

Ded continued their career trajectory, working on their second studio album, “School of Thought,” which was released on October 15, 2021. This album featured a more refined sound while maintaining their core identity. The band renewed its multi-year distribution deal with ADA Worldwide through Suretone Records for this release. In 2020, they released the “Mannequin Eyes” EP, which included tracks that appeared on “School of Thought.” Guitarist Alex Adamcik joined the band in 2021, replacing David Ludlow. Ded has notably toured with bands like In This Moment, New Years Day, P.O.D., Blessthefall, and The Word Alive, further solidifying their position in the rock and metal genres. Their third studio album, “Resent,” is scheduled for release on September 19, 2025.
