Def Leppard

Def Leppard established itself as a leading force in the music industry, pioneering a unique sound blending hard rock with pop sensibilities. Their debut album, ‘On Through the Night’ (1980), reached the Top 15 in the UK. This was followed by ‘High ‘n’ Dry’ (1981), produced by Mutt Lange, which helped define their melodic hard rock style, with ‘Bringin’ On the Heartbreak’ becoming one of the first rock videos on MTV in 1982. The band’s third album, ‘Pyromania’ (1983), marked a significant commercial breakthrough, featuring hit singles ‘Photograph’ and ‘Rock of Ages’ that topped the US Rock Tracks chart.

‘Adrenalize’ (1992) also reached No. 1 in multiple countries. The lineup solidified with Vivian Campbell joining Rick Savage (bass), Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Allen (drums), and Phil Collen (guitar) in 1992. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, Def Leppard was inducted into Hollywood’s RockWalk (2000), became inaugural inductees of VH1 Rock Honors (2006), and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2019).

Def Leppard continued their prolific output with albums like ‘Euphoria’ (1999). ‘Songs from the Sparkle Lounge’ debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in 2008, and ‘Mirror Ball – Live & More’ debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard Top 200 in 2011.

The band’s enduring appeal and innovative musical approach continue to influence a wide range of artists. Looking ahead, Def Leppard will receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on October 7, 2025, further cementing their status as rock legends.
