Europe is a renowned Swedish rock band that has captivated audiences since its formation in 1979. The band, originally named Force, gained significant recognition after winning the inaugural Rock-SM competition in 1982, which led to a record deal with Hot Records. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1983, showcased their talent and quickly established them as a prominent act in Sweden and Japan, with the single “Seven Doors Hotel” becoming a Top 10 hit in Japan.

The band’s international breakthrough came with their third album, “The Final Countdown,” released in 1986. This iconic album, featuring the title track that topped charts in 25 countries, solidified Europe’s status as a global rock phenomenon. The album was certified Triple Platinum in the USA and included other hits like “Carrie” and “Rock the Night,” further enhancing their reputation and commercial success.

After a hiatus in the early 1990s, Europe reunited in 2003, bringing back their classic lineup and releasing the album “Start from the Dark” in 2004. This marked a new chapter in their career, as they embraced a modern sound while retaining their signature style. Subsequent albums, including “Bag of Bones” and “War of Kings,” showcased their evolution as artists and their ability to resonate with both old and new fans.

In 2023, Europe embarked on their 40th anniversary tour, celebrating their enduring legacy in rock music. With a discography that includes eleven studio albums and numerous accolades, Europe continues to inspire and entertain, proving their timeless appeal in the music industry.
