Roby Satria, also a member of Geisha, was instrumental in founding the group. Their initial years involved developing their unique blend of rock, pop, folk, reggae, and hip-hop influences, which set the foundation for their future success in the Indonesian music scene. The band’s debut studio album, “Lelaku,” was released in 2015, marking their official entry into the recording industry and establishing their presence.
A significant milestone in Fourtwnty’s career occurred in 2017 when their song “Zona Nyaman” was selected as part of the soundtrack for the film “Filosofi Kopi 2: Ben & Jody.” This exposure broadened their audience and contributed to the success of their second studio album, “Ego & fungsi otak,” released in 2018. This album earned them the Indonesian Choice Award for Newcomer of the Year, solidifying their status within the industry. In 2023, Fourtwnty released their third studio album, “Nalar,” which included the track “Nematomorpha,” nominated for the Anugerah Musik Indonesia for Best Pop Duo/Group. Additionally, their 2022 single “Mangu” became a sleeper hit in 2025, spending a month at the top of the Official Indonesia Chart and two weeks on the Malaysian chart following their announcement of a break from the music scene.
Over the years, Fourtwnty has consistently engaged with their audience through live performances and tours. Their “Heliotropisme” tour in 2022 included a concert in Malaysia and engagements across 10 Indonesian cities.
