George McCrae

George McCrae is a Grammy-nominated American soul and disco singer renowned for his hit song “Rock Your Baby.” After delivering the seminal vocals for the track ‘Rock Your Baby’ in 1974, George McCrae catapulted to international fame, achieving global phenomenon status with the single. The track sold an estimated eleven million copies worldwide and topped charts in both the U.S. and the UK. Originally conceived for his then-wife, Gwen McCrae, the song found its voice through George, who expertly showcased his distinctive high vocal range during recording sessions alongside Richard Finch and Harry Wayne Casey of KC and the Sunshine Band.

Rolling Stone magazine swiftly recognized ‘Rock Your Baby’ as the No. 1 song of 1974, and McCrae’s impactful performance earned him a prestigious Grammy Award nomination for Best Male R&B Vocalist the following year.
