Hodgy, also known as Jerry, is an American rapper and record producer recognized for his foundational role in the hip hop collective Odd Future. After emerging as a foundational member of the influential hip hop collective Odd Future, Hodgy became the first artist from the acclaimed group to release a solo project with The Dena Tape in 2009. Recognized for his pivotal role alongside artists such as Tyler, the Creator, Left Brain, Casey Veggies, and Matt Martians, Hodgy made significant contributions across numerous collaborative projects within the collective, establishing his distinctive sound and artistic vision early in his career. Hodgy was also integral to the acclaimed duo MellowHype with Left Brain, releasing four albums: YelloWhite, BlackenedWhite, Numbers, and INSA.
Further expanding his collaborative efforts, he formed part of the MellowHigh trio, which saw their self-titled debut album MellowHigh reach number 89 on the US Billboard 200 in 2013. His debut solo studio album, Fireplace: TheNotTheOtherSide, was released in December 2016 through Odd Future and Columbia Records, featuring high-profile collaborations with artists such as Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne. Following a period of creative development, Hodgy re-emerged in March 2022 with the single ‘Into Someone,’ followed by the project Entitled in May 2022. In 2023, he marked a significant artistic evolution by rebranding himself professionally as Jerry, releasing the track ‘Facing the Worst Fears.’ This reintroduction showcased his continued artistic growth and versatility, setting the stage for new musical endeavors.
Continuing this new chapter as Jerry, he released his latest full-length studio album, Lovemesooner, on February 14, 2024. This recent release further solidifies Jerrys rebranded identity and artistic direction, underscoring his enduring impact and consistent innovation within the music landscape. His career trajectory highlights a journey of consistent output and an evolving artistic persona.
