Hujan

Hujan, a Malaysian indie rock band formed in Kuala Lumpur in 2005, has become a beacon of creativity and success in the Malaysian music scene. Founded by vocalist Noh Salleh and lead guitarist AG Coco, the band quickly garnered a devoted following, affectionately known as Raingers, as a nod to their name’s Malay translation, “rain.”

Despite facing initial challenges, Hujan persevered and emerged as one of Malaysia’s most successful bands, known for their unorthodox sound and stylistic innovation blending alternative rock with jazz melodies. Their early EPs, “1, 2, 3, Go!” and “Check Check Rock Rock,” circulated widely on platforms like Myspace, laying the foundation for their meteoric rise.

Hujan’s breakthrough came with the single “Pagi Yang Gelap” from their EP “1, 2, 3, Go!” which enjoyed widespread popularity and radio airplay, propelling them into the mainstream spotlight. Their self-titled debut album, released in 2008, further solidified their success, earning critical acclaim and winning the prestigious Lagu Terbaik (Best Song) award at the Anugerah Muzik Malaysia (AIM) in 2009 for the hit “Bila Aku Sudah Tiada.”

Over the years, Hujan has continued to captivate audiences with their unique sound, releasing six studio albums and several EPs. Their impact extends beyond the band, with frontman Noh Salleh pursuing successful solo projects under his own name. With their entire discography available on major streaming platforms and a dedicated fanbase, Hujan remains a powerhouse in the Malaysian alternative rock scene, inspiring audiences with their musical prowess and creativity.
