Within a year, Imase debuted in December 2021 with his single “Have a Nice Day” through Universal Music Japan. His ability to produce original songs from his bedroom quickly gained him a significant following, particularly on TikTok. His second release, “Touhikou,” achieved the number one position on the TikTok Hot Song Weekly Ranking on Billboard Japan, highlighting his rapid rise in the music industry.
His breakout success further solidified with the 2022 viral single “Night Dancer.” This track garnered over 1 billion views on TikTok and made history by becoming the first Japanese song by a Japanese artist to enter the Melon 100 chart in South Korea. This achievement earned him the nickname “monster rookie.” In 2022, he released his first EP, “Pop Cube,” under Universal Music Japan. Imase’s career has also included notable collaborations, such as producing songs “Jewelry” and “Dresscode” for the K-pop group Le Sserafim in 2023. His song “Outline” was selected as the official theme song for the 103rd All Japan High School Soccer Tournament, where he performed it live on January 13, 2025.
