Insomniacks

Insomniacks is a Malaysian pop band recognized for its genre-blending sound and significant chart success, offering a unique appeal to diverse audiences. After achieving mainstream recognition with their record-breaking single ‘Pulang’ in 2018, Insomniacks, the Malaysian pop band, quickly solidified their position in the music industry. Formed in 2015, the band, originally comprising Syed Mir Iqbal (Iqie) on lead vocals and guitar, Wan Arif Iskandar (Iskandar) on bass and vocals, Danial Lee Hashim (Danial) on rhythm guitar and vocals, and Gavin Wong (Gavin) on drums, first established a public presence by sharing cover song performances on their YouTube channel in November 2015. Their debut single, ‘Selalu,’ released in 2017, gained further exposure by being featured in the Astro Ria drama My Coffee Prince.

Their consistent growth culminated in the release of the ‘Teman’ EP in 2024, which featured notable collaborations including ‘Cerita Kita’ with Nabila Razali and ‘Belum Mulai’ with Nabila Taqiyyah. The track ‘Belum Mulai’ later earned the band the Best Music Video award at the 2025 Gempak Most Wanted Awards, underscoring their creative prowess. Looking ahead, Insomniacks introduced their first English-language EP, ‘Awake & Dreaming,’ in January 2025, exploring themes of mental health and featuring their earliest written song. To commemorate a decade of significant contributions to the music landscape, the band announced their first solo concert, scheduled for July 12, 2025, marking a monumental milestone in their celebrated career.
