Isabella Lovestory

Isabella Rodríguez Rivera, known professionally as Isabella Lovestory, was born on November 30, 1993, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Her early life was influenced by her father, a radio DJ. At age 13, she moved with her family to Virginia, USA, and later relocated to Montreal, Canada. She enrolled in art school, but her musical career began in 2018 when she started recording music, releasing her debut mixtape, “Juguete,” that year. This marked the beginning of her artistic journey, leading to a distinct perreo-pop style that blends reggaeton, electropop, and pop elements.

Her career progressed with the release of extended plays “Humo” in 2019 and “Mariposa” in 2020. “Mariposa” notably gained significant recognition. In 2021, she released singles “Aló,” “Vuelta,” and “Tranki,” followed by a remix mixtape featuring collaborations with artists like Kamixlo and Club Eat. Lovestory’s music consistently explores themes of self-expression and women’s empowerment, often through a persona that embraces sexual objectification as a form of critique and empowerment.

In 2022, Isabella Lovestory released her debut full-length studio album, “Amor Hardcore,” featuring singles like “Cherry Bomb” and “Sexo Amor Dinero.” The album received critical acclaim, being longlisted for the 2023 Polaris Music Prize and ranked among Rolling Stone’s “50 Best Spanish-Language Albums of 2022.” That same year, she collaborated with K-Pop girl group LE SSERAFIM on their song “ANTIFRAGILE” and with Mura Masa on “tonto,” performing at Coachella in 2023. Her second studio album, “Vanity,” released in 2025, continued to expand her sound, incorporating diverse genres and earning positive reviews for its lyrical depth and artistic breadth. She has performed at significant events such as the Pop Montreal festival and opened for Pitbull at the Festival d’été de Québec.
