John Fogerty

In 1968, John Fogerty became the lead singer, lead guitarist, and principal songwriter for Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), propelling the band to rapid prominence. Between 1968 and 1972, CCR achieved nine top-10 singles and eight gold albums, with Fogerty penning all the notable songs. These included enduring hits such as ‘Proud Mary,’ ‘Bad Moon Rising,’ ‘Fortunate Son,’ ‘Green River,’ ‘Down on the Corner,’ ‘Who’ll Stop the Rain,’ ‘Up Around the Bend,’ and ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain.’ Under his creative leadership, the band released highly successful albums including Bayou Country, Green River, and Willy and the Poor Boys in 1969, followed by Cosmo’s Factory and Pendulum in 1970. The group’s prolific output culminated with their final album, Mardi Gras, released in 1972.

Demonstrating his ongoing impact and creativity, Fogerty signed with BMG Rights Management in 2017. He subsequently released Fogerty’s Factory in 2020. A monumental professional achievement occurred in 2023 when Fogerty, after a five-decade struggle, regained worldwide control of the publishing rights to his seminal Creedence Clearwater Revival songs, solidifying his legacy and ensuring the future of his iconic catalog.
