Junior Brown was born in 1952 in Cottonwood, Arizona. From an early age, he showed an aptitude for music. His musical career began in the 1960s, playing in various bands and developing his distinct guitar style. He became known for his innovative approach to traditional country and rock music, which laid the groundwork for his future success.
Brown’s career progressed through decades of performing and recording. A significant turning point was the development of his custom-designed ‘Guit-Steel’ instrument, which combines a six-string electric guitar and a lap steel guitar, allowing him to seamlessly switch between the two during live performances. This invention became a hallmark of his sound and stage presence. His early albums, such as “12 Shades of Brown” and “Guit With It,” helped establish him as a notable figure in both Texas roadhouses and broader music venues.
In 1993, Junior Brown secured a seven-record deal with Curb Records. This partnership allowed him to release acclaimed albums that showcased his songwriting, vocal abilities, and instrumental prowess. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a variety of artists across different genres, further demonstrating his versatility and broad appeal.
