After relocating to Saginaw, Michigan, McCray honed his craft playing in local clubs alongside his brothers, establishing a strong foundation in the blues genre. His debut album, “Ambition,” released in 1991 through Point Blank Records, marked the beginning of his professional career, leading to tours with blues legends like Albert Collins.
In 1993, McCray released his follow-up album, “Delta Hurricane,” produced by renowned British blues producer Mike Vernon. This album further solidified his reputation in the blues community.
