Laura Mvula

Laura Mvula is an award-winning British singer and composer recognized for her contributions to contemporary R&B, soul, and jazz. After signing with RCA Records in May 2012, Laura Mvula quickly established herself as a formidable talent in contemporary R&B, soul, and jazz. Her foundational musical training included graduating from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a degree in composition in 2008, contributing to the a cappella group Black Voices which toured the UK and Europe in 2005, and forming her own jazz/neo-soul group, Judyshouse. She also directed the Lichfield Community Gospel Choir in 2009 and the Alvechurch Community Choir, honing her leadership and musical direction capabilities.

More recently, Mvula released her ‘1/f’ EP in February 2021, building anticipation for her third studio album. The critically acclaimed ‘Pink Noise’ was released in July 2021 on Atlantic Records, showcasing her continued evolution as an artist.
