Sonya Broner, known in the music industry as Level Up, was born and raised in the vibrant and diverse city of Los Angeles. Her love for hip-hop music and culture led her to seek guidance from legendary DJ Rob Swift, under whose tutelage she learned the art of scratching, beat juggling, and crowd control.

After moving to New York City to pursue her dreams, Sonya continued her education at The New School of Drama in Manhattan while honing her skills behind the decks. She began playing at local clubs, putting her skills to the test on real crowds. With confidence and ability, Sonya started competing in scratch battles, where her skills as a turntablist were put on full display.
