Lil’ Kim established herself as a significant figure in hip-hop after achieving commercial success as the sole female member of the rap group Junior M.A.F.I.A. Their debut album, ‘Conspiracy,’ released in 1995, reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold by the RIAA, featuring hit singles ‘Player’s Anthem’ (#13) and ‘Get Money’ (#17). This success paved the way for her solo career, commencing with her debut album, ‘Hard Core,’ in 1996. ‘Hard Core’ debuted at number 11 on the pop charts and included the successful single ‘No Time,’ a duet with Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs, which became a #1 rap single and reached #20 on the pop charts.
