Mod Sun

Mod Sun, an artist known for his genre-bending music and authentic message, has transitioned from punk rock drummer to a multi-faceted musician, author, and filmmaker, resonating with audiences through his candid exploration of mental health and sobriety. After achieving commercial success with his debut album ‘Look Up,’ which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart in March 2015, Mod Sun has established himself as a multi-faceted artist across music, literature, and film. His musical foundation was built through his early career as a drummer, playing in post-hardcore groups such as Four Letter Lie starting in 2005, and Scary Kids Scaring Kids. In 2009, he made a significant shift in his artistic development by focusing on a solo rap career as Mod Sun.

This new direction led to the release of his debut EP, ‘The Hippy Hop EP,’ in 2010, paving the way for his full-length debut. Mod Sun continued to demonstrate a consistent and evolving musical output with his second studio album, ‘Movie,’ in 2017, followed by ‘BB’ released the same year. Expanding his creative endeavors beyond music, he ventured into the literary world, publishing his non-fiction book ‘Did I Ever Wake Up?’ in 2012. This was followed by two poetry collections: ‘My Dear Pink’ in 2015 and ‘So Long Los Angeles’ in 2018, showcasing his versatility as an author.

His diverse career encompasses five solo studio albums, three EPs, six mixtapes, and multiple literary works and film projects, consistently highlighting his continuous drive for creative expression across various mediums.
