Nissi

Jehovah-Nissi Ogulu, known professionally as Nissi, was born on August 1, 1994, to Bose and Samuel Ogulu. She is the younger sister of Afrobeats artist Burna Boy. Her musical journey began at the age of six. Nissi pursued higher education at the University of Warwick, where she studied Mechanical Engineering.

Nissi’s career is marked by diverse achievements across multiple fields. She released her debut single “Pay Attention” in September 2016, followed by other singles like “Familiar” in the same year. In 2020, she released her EP titled “IGNITE.” Beyond music, she is the founder of Creele Animation Studios, which focuses on African storytelling, and co-founded Kemet Automotive, an electric vehicle company. In 2021, Nissi was part of the Jaguar Land Rover engineering team that designed and assembled the 2023 Range Rover Model. She also launched a charity NFT collection on the Binance NFT marketplace and released a 3D animated short film, “The Satchel,” produced by her company, where she served as director, producer, and composer.

Her career progression continued with performances at international events such as AfroNation Miami Festival in 2023 and AfroNation Portugal. In June 2023, she released the single “Higher,” followed by “Nobody” featuring Fireboy DML in September 2023. Her sophomore EP, “Unboxed,” was released in October 2023. Nissi made her inaugural headline performance at Sounds Of Brazil (SOBs) in New York in March 2024. In March 2025, she was presented with the ‘Youth Icon Award’ at the Forbes Africa Women Leading Summit in Pretoria, South Africa, for her work in music, art, and electric vehicle innovation.
