The American experimental hip-hop band, consisting of vocalist MC Ride (Stefan Burnett), drummer Zach Hill, and keyboardist Andy Morin, integrates elements from rap, punk rock, electronic, noise, and industrial genres. Their early work, including the highly-praised mixtape ‘Exmilitary’ released in 2011, garnered significant attention.

This was followed by their critically recognized debut studio album, ‘The Money Store’ in 2012, which solidified their distinctive presence in the music scene and earned widespread critical acclaim. In 2012, Death Grips signed with Epic Records, a major label deal that quickly led to controversy. The band controversially leaked their second album, ‘No Love Deep Web,’ for free download later that year, resulting in their departure from Epic Records. Following this bold move, they launched Third Worlds in 2013, an independent imprint in association with Harvest Records, under which they released ‘Government Plates’ the same year.

Their willingness to challenge industry norms through strategic online releases and often-cryptic communication has been a hallmark of their career. Most recently, Death Grips embarked on a North American tour in 2023, confirming their ongoing active status and unique artistic trajectory within the music landscape.
