Flor de Toloache made history in 2017, becoming the first all-female ensemble to win a Latin Grammy for ‘Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album’ for their critically acclaimed second studio album, Las Caras Lindas. Prior to this landmark achievement, the band had already begun redefining traditional Mexican music, first gaining recognition performing in the New York City subway system and drawing attention from outlets including the New York Times. Their distinctive sound, blending traditional mariachi with modern influences from genres like rock, pop, and R&B, was first showcased on their debut album, Mariachi Flor de Toloache, released in 2014. Building on their initial success, Flor de Toloache further expanded their profile with an extensive 2016 tour alongside The Arcs, following their contributions to the band’s album, Yours, Dreamily, which significantly broadened their audience reach.
