Okay Kaya, also known as Kaya Wilkins, is a Norwegian-American musician and actress recognized for her distinct musical style and acting roles, offering a unique artistic perspective to creative collaborations. After releasing her debut song ‘Damn, Gravity’ in 2015, Okay Kaya quickly established herself as a multidisciplinary artist, weaving a unique blend of music, acting, and visual art. Her musical journey progressed with the 2016 release of the ‘Durer’ Music Video, followed by her first full-length album, ‘Both,’ in 2018. This critically acclaimed debut was a collaboration with Aaron Maine of the band Porches.
Further expanding her acting portfolio, Wilkins appeared in ‘Exit Plan’ in 2019, performing under her professional name, Kaya Wilkins, solidifying her presence in the film industry. Demonstrating her prolific creative output, Okay Kaya released the mixtape ‘Surviving Is the New Living’ in August 2020, followed by ‘The Incompatible Okay Kaya’ mixtape in 2021, showcasing her continuous exploration of sound. Her artistic endeavors also extended into the visual arts with a solo gallery show, ‘Sandplay,’ at Copenhagen’s Etage Projects in 2021. Additionally, she contributed to the prestigious MUNCH Museum with her installation, ‘Wet Suit,’ further cementing her role in contemporary art. In 2022, Okay Kaya released her highly anticipated album, ‘SAP,’ an entirely self-contained project where she wrote, performed, engineered, and produced all tracks, exploring themes of consciousness. Her most recent album, ‘Oh My God Thats So Me,’ was released on September 6, 2024, by OneRPM.
