Ra Ra Riot is an American indie rock band that has captivated audiences with their unique blend of indie rock and chamber pop since their formation in 2006. The band quickly gained traction, performing at local venues around Syracuse University and recording a demo that showcased their energetic sound. Their breakthrough came shortly after, as they opened for notable acts like Bow Wow Wow and the Editors, and embarked on their own tours in the UK and North America, establishing themselves as a formidable live act.

In 2008, Ra Ra Riot released their debut album, “The Rhumb Line,” through Barsuk Records, which received critical acclaim and featured the hit single “Can You Tell.” The music video for this track won Best Music Video at the Finger Lakes Film Festival in 2009, further solidifying their reputation in the music industry. Their sophomore album, “The Orchard,” released in 2010, showcased their evolving sound and was nominated for the Independent Music Awards, highlighting their continued growth and artistic development.

The band embraced a new direction with their third album, “Beta Love,” in 2013, which marked a shift towards synthpop. This evolution was well-received, and they continued to innovate with their subsequent releases, including “Need Your Light” in 2016 and “Superbloom” in 2019, both of which demonstrated their versatility and commitment to pushing musical boundaries.

As they celebrate their 15th anniversary, Ra Ra Riot remains a vibrant force in the music scene, recently announcing the RA RA RIOT: REDIVIVUS Tour and releasing new music. Their journey reflects a dedication to creativity and connection with fans, ensuring their place in the indie music landscape for years to come.
