One of the most unique personalities in the US hip-hop scene, rapper RiFF RAFF has made a name for himself as a vibrant eccentric with an image and a sound like no other. Having collaborated with Skepta, Skrillex, Childisbh Gambino, Gucci Mane, Danny Brown and Diplo, he’s become one of the rap world’s most infamous names, taking his braided hair and diamond grills on tour across the globe while releasing some of contemporary hip-hop’s wildest videos.
Before finding notoriety on an episode of MTV’s From G’s to Gents, Riff Raff was brutally determined to be famous: he spent much of the ‘00s hustling, passing out homemade CDs and mixtapes in malls while uploading songs and videos to MySpace and YouTube. After moving to LA from Houston, he caught the attention of Soulja Boy, signing to his label S.O.D. Money Gang Inc. for a year before moving over to Diplo’s Mad Decent imprint in 2012. He stoked anticipation with viral single releases before issuing his debut LP, Neon Icon, in 2014, featuring collaborations with Mac Miller, Slim Thug, Amber Coffman and Childish Gambino.
Since his debut, RiFF RAFF has joined the Vans Warped Tour and released two further studio albums, working with Quavo, Travis Barker, Chief Keef, Wiz Khalifa and Chevy Woods and more.
