RiFF RAFF, born Horst Christian Simco, has established a multifaceted career as an American rapper, expanding into entertainment ventures and brand collaborations. After gaining significant visibility through his appearance on MTV’s reality show ‘From G’s to Gents’ in 2009, RiFF RAFF had already established a unique musical presence by distributing homemade CDs of his raps across the Greater Houston Area starting in 2005. He further cultivated his distinct style and ad-libs by leveraging social media platforms, including MySpace, YouTube, and WorldStarHipHop, from late 2008, where he released a consistent stream of freestyle videos and sketch clips. These early efforts led to a notable collaboration in the rap group Three Loco, alongside Simon Rex and Andy Milonakis, laying the foundation for his professional music career and broader entertainment ventures.
In 2011, RiFF RAFF initiated professional management under OG Ron C, a co-founder of Swishahouse, and relocated to Los Angeles. He expanded his internet presence through viral music videos like ‘Jose Canseco’ and ‘Marc Jacobs,’ and briefly signed with Soulja Boy’s S.O.D. Money Gang Inc. in mid-2011.
Maintaining his momentum, RiFF RAFF signed a $500,000 deal with Blackbear’s Beartrap Sound in February 2018. His consistent output continued with the album ‘Cool Blue Jewels’ (2018), followed by ‘Pink Python’ (2019), and ‘Cranberry Vampire’ (2019), further cementing his unique artistic vision and extensive discography within the industry.
