Roger Creager was born on July 25, 1971, in Corpus Christi, Texas. From an early age, Creager showed an interest in music, beginning piano lessons in second grade and later learning guitar while attending Tuloso-Midway High School. His formal education continued at Sam Houston State University, where he earned a degree in business, followed by an agriculture degree from Texas A&M University in College Station. These academic pursuits unfolded as the Texas Music Revolution contributed to his development as a musician. Creager released his debut album, “Having Fun All Wrong,” in 1998, followed by “I Got the Guns” in 2000, both on Dualtone Records. His album “Long Way to Mexico” (2003) and “Live Across Texas” (2004) appeared on the US Country charts, reaching positions 63 and 70 respectively.
Over his career, Creager has consistently engaged with outdoor pursuits and integrated these experiences into his music. In August 2006, he scaled Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. The following year, in the summer of 2007, he participated in the Festival Country Rendez-Vous in France. His musical releases continued to gain traction, with “Here It Is” (2008) charting at number 39 on US Country, and positions on Top Heatseekers and Independent Albums charts. He released “Surrender” in 2012 and “Road Show” in 2014, with the latter reaching number 20 on the US Country chart. In 2015, the EP “Gulf Coast Time” further showcased his connection to his coastal upbringing, charting at number 41 on US Country and number 25 on Top Heatseekers. Creager married Chelsey in November 2021, and they have a daughter. He resides in Houston, Texas, continuing to explore and incorporate his life experiences into his musical endeavors.
