Sandi Thom, the Scottish singer-songwriter, achieved mainstream success with her debut single “I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)” and continues to release music independently, engaging with diverse audiences globally. After gaining widespread recognition in 2006 for her innovative ’21 Nights from Tooting’ webcast series, Sandi Thom secured a record deal with RCA. This breakthrough followed her earlier distinction as the youngest student accepted into the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), where she graduated with a BA in Performing Arts in 2003, and her signing with Windswept Pacific Music in 2005. Her debut single, ‘I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair),’ released in 2006, achieved immediate commercial success, reaching number one on the UK Singles Chart, Ireland, and Australia, where it was also the highest-selling single of 2006.

She further demonstrated her sustained artistic output and independent spirit with the album ‘Ghosts’ in 2019, reinforcing her ability to connect with a global audience through self-released projects and extensive touring. Most recently, Thom released the single ‘Silence’ in 2023, showcasing her ongoing dedication to her craft and her continued engagement with diverse audiences globally as an independent artist, consistently delivering new music and maintaining a strong connection with her fanbase.
