Saweetie

Saweetie is a multi-platinum-selling recording artist and entrepreneur, known for her engaging music and successful brand collaborations spanning fashion, beauty, and food industries. After her freestyle rap video on Instagram went viral, Saweetie released her debut single ‘Icy Grl’ on SoundCloud in the summer of 2017. The track quickly achieved viral success, leading to a significant milestone in February 2018 when she signed with Warner Bros. Records (now Warner Records) in a joint venture with Artistry Worldwide.

That same month, Saweetie established her own record label, Icy Records. Her debut EP, ‘High Maintenance,’ was released on March 16, 2018, featuring production by CashMoneyAP, Nyrell, and Zaytoven. ‘Icy Grl’ earned Gold certification in June 2018, and by September 2019, it received multi-platinum RIAA certification and topped Billboard’s rhythmic songs airplay chart. Saweetie continued her trajectory with the release of her second EP, ‘Icy,’ in March 2019.

Her entrepreneurial ventures expanded with the launch of Icy University, a virtual educational content series, that same year. In 2021, she hosted Netflix’s ‘Sex: Unzipped.’ Saweetie received nominations at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Rap/Sung Performance for ‘Best Friend’ and for Best New Artist in 2022, further earning the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding New Artist in 2022.
