Sawsan Al Bahiti

Recognized as Saudi Arabia’s first opera singer, Sawsan Al Bahiti is a leading figure in the development of the Saudi music industry, working with high-profile organizations and artists. After pursuing a Mass Communications – Advertising degree at the American University of Sharjah beginning in 2007, Sawsan discovered her vocal aptitude through choral singing electives. This led to continuous vocal training and two years of intensive musical activity, mastering performances in English, French, German, and Italian. Following a period working in marketing, the announcement of Saudi Vision 2030 and the subsequent creation of the Ministry of Culture in 2018 prompted Sawsan to fully dedicate herself to music.

In January 2024, she performed alongside Andrea Bocelli and Italian soprano Serena Gamberoni in AlUla, and also graced the stage with the Paris Opera. Her commitment to pioneering opera in Saudi Arabia continued with her casting in ‘Zarqa Al Yamama,’ Saudi Arabia’s first grand opera, which premiered in April 2024. Currently, Sawsan continues to advance her operatic studies in Italy on a scholarship from the Saudi Music Commission, focusing on developing new operatic styles and fusions to further enrich the art form within the region and globally. She remains a prominent figure in the ongoing expansion of Saudi Arabia’s cultural landscape.
