Shreya Ghoshal is a highly acclaimed Indian playback singer, renowned for her extensive vocal range and versatility across numerous Indian and foreign languages. After winning the All India Light Vocal Music Competition in New Delhi in 1995 and subsequently winning the television music reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma’ on Zee TV in 2000, Shreya Ghoshal made a groundbreaking playback singing debut at age 16 in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2002 romantic drama ‘Devdas’. Lending her voice to Aishwarya Rai’s character, Paro, her renditions of ‘Bairi Piya’ and ‘Dola Re Dola’ achieved significant acclaim. This breakthrough earned her the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for ‘Bairi Piya’ (2002) and the Filmfare R.D.
