Born on October 3, 1995, in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, Talha Anjum began his musical journey during his school years. Alongside Talhah Yunus, he co-founded Young Stunners, a group that was instrumental in introducing Urdu rap to the Pakistani music industry. Their early work, including tracks like “Burger-e-Karachi” (2013), “Maila Majnun,” and “Laam Sai Chaura,” quickly garnered attention. The duo continued to achieve milestones with major releases such as “Gumaan,” “Afsanay,” and the official anthem for the 2021 Pakistan Super League, “Groove Mera.”
Anjum expanded his career by pursuing solo projects and collaborations with other artists. In 2022, he released “Nevermind,” a collaboration with Indian rapper Calm. His solo efforts led to the release of his debut album, “Open Letter,” in 2023, which earned two nominations at the 23rd Lux Style Awards. Following this, his second solo album, “My Terrible Mind,” was released in 2024 in partnership with the US-based label Mass Appeal. This album contributed to his recognition as the most streamed local artist on Spotify Pakistan in 2024, surpassing Atif Aslam, a notable achievement after ranking just behind him the previous year. He also made his cinematic debut in December 2024 with the short film “Kattar Karachi,” a visual interpretation of his “My Terrible Mind” album, where he also served as an executive producer.
Throughout his career, Talha Anjum has been praised for his contributions to hip-hop, with Indian rapper Badshah publicly acknowledging his work. His progression from a grassroots artist to a leading figure in the South Asian music scene demonstrates his impact and influence on contemporary music. He continues to engage with various projects, including co-writing the 2025 Pakistan Super League anthem, “X Dekho,” alongside Ali Zafar and other artists.
