The Black Keys, an American rock duo, rose from independent roots to become a Grammy-winning band, known for their distinct garage rock and blues rock sound. After securing a record deal with independent label Alive in 2002, The Black Keys released their debut album, ‘The Big Come Up,’ in May 2002, establishing their raw blues rock sound. This critical reception led to a subsequent deal with Fat Possum Records, enabling guitarist/vocalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney to cultivate an underground fanbase through consistent touring and frequent album releases. Their third album, ‘Rubber Factory’ (2004), recorded in a former tire manufacturing factory, garnered critical acclaim and marked their first entry onto the U.S.
This was followed by ‘Delta Kream’ in 2021, a critically praised tribute to hill country blues, and ‘Dropout Boogie’ in 2022, which continued to showcase their signature sound. Most recently, The Black Keys released their twelfth studio album, ‘Ohio Players,’ in 2024, featuring collaborations with Beck and Noel Gallagher. The duo continues to innovate and expand their acclaimed discography, with their forthcoming album, ‘No Rain, No Flowers,’ slated for release in 2025.
