Tia Carrere

Tia Carrere is an accomplished actress and two-time Grammy-winning singer, known for her diverse roles in film and television, and her significant contributions to Hawaiian music. After establishing an early career with a recurring role on the daytime soap opera General Hospital from 1985 to 1987, Tia Carrere secured her first female lead role in the film Aloha Summer (1988). This foundational work led to numerous guest appearances in popular television series including MacGyver, Quantum Leap, and Married… with Children, showcasing her versatility and building a robust acting portfolio in Los Angeles.

Carrere achieved widespread recognition for her iconic portrayal of Cassandra Wong in Wayne’s World (1992) and reprised the role in its sequel Wayne’s World 2 (1993), where she performed all her own songs for the movie soundtracks, demonstrating her vocal talents. Her burgeoning profile led to her being featured in People magazine’s ’50 most beautiful people’ list in 1992.
