TOPS is a celebrated Canadian indie rock band hailing from Montreal, Quebec, known for their distinctive sound and engaging performances. Formed in 2011 by childhood friends Jane Penny and David Carriere, the band emerged from the remnants of the synthpop group Silly Kissers. Their debut album, “Tender Opposites,” released in 2012, garnered critical acclaim and was recognized as one of the best albums of the year by Gorilla vs. Bear. In 2017, the band welcomed Marta Cikojevic as their keyboardist, enhancing their dynamic sound. The addition of Cikojevic allowed for greater musical exploration, culminating in the release of their third album, “Sugar at the Gate,” in 2017.
