Travie McCoy

Travie McCoy is a Grammy-nominated rapper, singer, and songwriter known for his influential role as the co-founder and lead vocalist of the rap rock band Gym Class Heroes. His career spans independent releases, major label success, and a significant solo career, establishing him as a versatile artist in the music industry. After co-founding the influential rap rock band Gym Class Heroes in 1997, Travie McCoy rapidly gained recognition by winning the MTV Direct Effect MC Battle in 2002. The band subsequently signed with Fueled by Ramen in 2003 and released The Papercut Chronicles in 2005, before achieving mainstream success with their 2006 album, As Cruel as School Children.

This album featured the gold-selling single ‘Cupid’s Chokehold,’ which soared to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
