Aaron Perry Johnson, born on June 13, 1990, in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, began his acting career at the age of six, appearing in stage productions like Macbeth and All My Sons. His early television roles included appearances in The Apocalypse (2002), The Bill (2003), and Feather Boy (2004). He made his feature film debut in Tom & Thomas (2002), playing dual title roles. His first American film was Shanghai Knights (2003), where he portrayed a young Charles Chaplin. Other notable early film credits include Dead Cool (2004), The Thief Lord (2006), and The Illusionist (2006), playing a younger version of Edward Norton’s character.

Taylor-Johnson gained wider recognition for his leading role in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008).
