Ádám Marosi

Ádám Marosi was born on July 26, 1984, in Budapest, Hungary. He began his career in Modern Pentathlon, a multi-disciplinary sport comprising fencing, swimming, equestrian show jumping, and a combined event of pistol shooting and cross-country running. Marosi quickly established himself as a prominent figure, competing in various junior and senior championships. His early career saw him achieve significant results, including a gold medal at the UIPM 2003 Pentathlon Junior World Championships in the Team-relay Men category and a silver medal at the UIPM 2004 Pentathlon Junior World Championships in the individual final. By 2005, he secured another gold at the UIPM 2005 Pentathlon Junior World Championships in Moscow. Transitioning to senior competitions, Marosi consistently placed well, showcasing his versatility across the demanding disciplines of modern pentathlon.

Over the years, Marosi accumulated a substantial number of accolades, demonstrating a sustained level of performance at the elite level. A significant turning point in his individual career was winning the gold medal at the 2009 World Modern Pentathlon Championships in London. He continued to collect medals at World Championships, including gold in Relay (2011 Moscow, 2013 Kaohsiung), and Team events (2009 London, 2014 Warsaw, 2021 Cairo), alongside individual gold at the 2021 Cairo championships. His Olympic journey includes a bronze medal at the 2012 London Summer Olympics. Marosi competed in multiple Olympic Games, including Tokyo 2020 where he finished 6th. His career also features numerous World Cup and European Championship victories, underscoring his position as a leading athlete in the sport.

Throughout his career, Marosi maintained a strong presence in the international modern pentathlon scene. He has been a consistent participant in UIPM World Cups, often achieving top placements. Notable performances include securing first place at the UIPM World Cup #2 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the UIPM World Cup #1 in Palm Springs, United States, both in 2013. His endurance and competitive spirit allowed him to compete at a high level into his late thirties, achieving significant wins such as his individual gold at the 2021 UIPM Pentathlon World Championships in Cairo at 36 years old. This achievement highlighted his continued dedication and skill in the sport, making him one of the oldest athletes to win such a title in recent history.
