Alan Cumming won the Olivier Award for Best Comedy Performance in 1991 for his role in Accidental Death of an Anarchist, a production he also adapted. His acclaimed career began with his professional theatre debut in Macbeth at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow, following his graduation with a B.A. in Dramatic Studies from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 1985. During this period, Cumming formed the successful cabaret double act Victor and Barry, performing extensively across the UK and Australia.
