Alencia Johnson has transitioned from a prominent political strategist to a social impact consultant and author, advising brands and individuals on purpose-driven initiatives. After working on President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, Alencia Johnson established herself as a leading political strategist and social impact leader. She applied her expertise in strategic communications and advocacy during six years at Planned Parenthood’s national office, where she championed reproductive freedom and engaged with the entertainment industry. This period included her involvement in Hilary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
These roles solidified her reputation for connecting diverse groups to common goals and driving mission-driven initiatives through strategic communications. In 2020, Johnson founded 1063 West Broad, a social impact consultancy and media company where she serves as owner and Chief Impact Officer. Through 1063 West Broad, she advises notable clients such as America Ferrera and Wilmer Valderramas nonprofit Harness, Apple, and BET Networks on purpose-driven marketing concepts. That same year, she was appointed to the Virginia Council on Women by former Governor Ralph Northam and contributed to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.
Johnson is also a frequent and sought-after commentator, appearing on national news programs including CNN and MSNBC, providing insights on politics, pop culture, and social issues. Demonstrating her commitment to social justice, Johnson serves on the Warner Music Groups Social Justice Fund Board, helping manage a $100 million fund dedicated to racial justice organizations. She is currently authoring her first book, ‘Flip the Tables: The Everyday Disruptor’s Guide to Finding Courage and Making Change,’ slated for release in Spring 2025. Her work continues to bridge the gap between strategic communications and meaningful social impact, positioning her as a leading voice in purpose-driven advocacy.
