Alaska Thunderfuck 5000 is a multifaceted entertainer, renowned drag queen, recording artist, and media personality who has leveraged her unique artistry into successful ventures across television, music, and digital platforms. After appearing as a contestant on the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2013, where she achieved the position of runner-up and won two main challenges and four mini-challenges, Alaska Thunderfuck 5000 significantly advanced her career trajectory. Prior to her national breakthrough, Alaska began her professional drag career in Los Angeles in 2007, performing at venues such as Fubar in West Hollywood and participating in Trannyshack shows, including Palm Springs Gay Pride in 2009. She also formed the band Haus of Haunt in 2010.
Expanding her brand beyond music, Alaska became a spokesmodel for American Apparel in 2014 and competed in VH1’s ‘Scared Famous’ in 2017. Since 2018, she has co-hosted the highly popular podcast ‘Race Chaser’ with Willam Belli, which offers in-depth analysis of episodes from RuPaul’s Drag Race.
