Alden Ehrenreich

Alden Caleb Ehrenreich was born on November 22, 1989, in Los Angeles, California. His early life involved acting in school productions, first at Palisades Elementary School and then at Crossroads School in Santa Monica. After high school, he pursued acting studies at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting within New York University, though he did not complete his degree. His entry into the film industry occurred after director Steven Spielberg saw a comedy video Ehrenreich made with a friend at a bat mitzvah. This led to meetings with DreamWorks’ casting director and early acting roles on television.

Ehrenreich’s feature film debut came in Francis Ford Coppola’s “Tetro” (2009), where his performance garnered positive critical attention. He continued to work with Coppola in “Twixt” (2011) and appeared in a Miss Dior Cherie commercial alongside Natalie Portman. A significant turning point in his career came with his co-leading role as Hobie Doyle in the Coen brothers’ film “Hail, Caesar!” (2016). This role significantly raised his public profile and earned him widespread praise for his comedic timing and performance. This was followed by his notable casting as Han Solo in “Solo: A Star Wars Story” (2018), a prequel detailing the character’s early life, which brought him global recognition within a major franchise.
