Janoris Jenkins

Janoris Jenkins was born on October 29, 1988, in Pahokee, Florida. He attended Pahokee High School where he played a crucial role in the football team’s undefeated 14-0 season and 2008 FHSAA Class 2B State championship. Rated a four-star recruit, Jenkins began his collegiate career at the University of Florida, playing for the Gators from 2008 to 2010. During his freshman year, he earned Freshman All-American honors. Following his time at Florida, he transferred to the University of North Alabama for his senior year.

Jenkins was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the second round (39th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Jenkins quickly made an impact, recording 73 combined tackles, 14 pass deflections, and four interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns, tying an NFL record for a rookie. This performance earned him a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team. Over his four seasons with the Rams, he was a consistent starter, demonstrating his ability to create turnovers and contribute defensively. In 2014, he recorded a career-long 99-yard interception return for a touchdown.

In 2016, Jenkins signed with the New York Giants, where he had significant success. He was named a starting cornerback, earned a Pro Bowl selection, and received Second-team All-Pro honors in 2016. During his tenure with the Giants, he accumulated 12 interceptions and continued to be a key player in their secondary. After being waived by the Giants in 2019, he joined the New Orleans Saints, where he continued to demonstrate his defensive prowess, including an interception against Tom Brady in 2020. He later played for the Tennessee Titans in 2021 and had a brief stint with the San Francisco 49ers in 2022, before his contract with the 49ers practice squad expired in January 2023.
