One of the brightest talents in the National Hockey League (NHL), Alex DeBrincat has evolved into a lethal triggerman. The young American has recorded incredible statistics in recent seasons that have placed him amongst the league’s best wingers. The Ottawa Senators winger has scored many impressive goals throughout his career so far, and still has plenty of great hockey ahead of him.
Hailing from Farmington Hills, Michigan, the hockey ace originally planned to play college ice hockey in Massachusetts but signed for the Ontario Hockey League (OHL)’s Erie Otters instead. DeBrincat wasted no time making an impact in the 2014-15 season, setting a franchise record with 100 points and over 50 goals and winning the CHL Rookie of the Year and Emms Family Award trophies. During the 2016-17 season he won the Red Tilson Trophy, Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy, Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy, and CHL Player of the Year award for his performance and became the all-time Otters goal leader.
Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, he made the team in 2017 and quickly became the second-youngest player in the team’s history to score a hat trick when he netted 3 against the Anaheim Ducks. DeBrincat continued to impress in the NHL and was named an NHL all-star for the first time in the 2021-22 season. The hockey star was traded to the Ottawa Senators in July 2022.
