Alex Johnson

Alex Johnson is a professional rock climber known for her competitive achievements and her contributions to outdoor climbing, including numerous first female ascents and advocacy for LGBTQ+ equality in sports. After winning the American Bouldering Series Youth Climbing National Championship in 2002, Alex Johnson went on to claim the US Open National Championship and the Adult National Championships, both in 2003. Her competitive prowess was further solidified when she became Open Pan American Champion in 2004. Johnson made history in 2008 as the first American to secure a Boulder World Cup win on US soil, a significant achievement she repeated in 2010 in Switzerland, establishing her as the first American to win two Boulder World Cup gold medals.
