Alexey Silde operates "Ballroom with Alexey," an initiative aimed at inspiring and motivating individuals to improve their movement and thinking through professional ballroom dance instruction. This platform also highlights his role as a professional dancer and coach with over 20 years of experience, focusing on transforming dance, mind, and body.
Alexey Silde embarked on his dance career in 1996, initiating his journey with Daria Ivanova in St. Petersburg, Russia. He engaged in national amateur competitions, laying the groundwork for his future in dance. A significant turning point occurred in 1999 when he partnered with Anna Firstova. This partnership marked the beginning of a highly successful period, leading to numerous national and international titles. Together, Silde and Firstova achieved the esteemed title of three-time Russian National Amateur Latin Champions. Their partnership also resulted in two WDSF World Amateur Latin Championship titles and victories at the WDSF World Games Latin Championships, along with medals at other major international events such as the German Open Championships, International Championships, and the Blackpool Dance Festival.
In 2011, Silde and Firstova transitioned to the professional circuit. Their professional career continued to be marked by success, as they secured both the WDSF Professional European Latin Championship and the WDSF Professional World Latin Championship titles. Following their retirement from competitive dancing, Alexey Silde channeled his experience into coaching, adjudicating, choreographing, and entrepreneurship within the dance industry. He now owns a dance studio and is dedicated to inspiring and motivating others to develop their dance skills and personal well-being. Silde has also collaborated with organizations such as the WDSF DanceSport Academy to produce educational resources on dance techniques, including ‘Connections in Latin’ and ‘The Rhythm’. Through these initiatives, he contributes to the ongoing development and education of dancers worldwide.
