Allen Leech is an Irish actor known for his roles as Tom Branson in the “Downton Abbey” series and films, and Paul Prenter in the biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody.” After making his professional acting debut in the Gate Theatre’s 1998 production of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire,’ Allen Leech quickly launched his career in Irish cinema. He starred as Vincent Cusack in the 2003 film ‘Cowboys & Angels’ and secured an Irish Film & Television Award nomination for his role as Mo Chara in 2004’s ‘Man About Dog.’ Leech further expanded his television career with a notable role as Marcus Agrippa in the HBO historical drama series ‘Rome’ in 2007, followed by his portrayal of Francis Dereham in ‘The Tudors.’ His career advanced significantly with his casting as Tom Branson in the acclaimed ITV period drama ‘Downton Abbey,’ a role he inhabited from 2010 to 2015.
