Amber Midthunder

Amber Midthunder, born on April 26, 1997, in Shiprock, New Mexico, developed an early passion for acting. Growing up with an actor father and a casting director mother, she began her on-screen career at a young age, with her first speaking role at nine in the film “Sunshine Cleaning” (2008). Her early career included various productions filmed in New Mexico before she moved to Los Angeles at 17 to pursue more extensive acting opportunities. Midthunder is an enrolled tribal member at the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.

Her career progressed with significant television roles, including series regular appearances on Marvel/FX’s “Legion” (2017–2019) as Kerry Loudermilk and The CW’s “Roswell, New Mexico” (2019–2022) as Rosa Ortecho. In film, she took on leading roles such as Tantoo in “The Ice Road” (2021) for Netflix, starring alongside Liam Neeson. A pivotal moment in her career came with her starring role as Naru in 20th Century’s “Prey” (2022), the fifth installment and first prequel of the “Predator” franchise. Her performance in “Prey” garnered critical acclaim, including a Breakthrough Performance Award at the Saturn Awards and a Critics’ Choice Awards nomination, solidifying her status as a breakout star.

Midthunder’s recent projects include co-starring roles in the action-comedy “Novocaine” (2025) and the thriller “Opus” (2025). She is also set to appear as Princess Yue in the television adaptation of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” (2024) and as Miss Desjardin in the upcoming series “Carrie” (2026) for Prime Video. Beyond her acting work, Midthunder is an advocate for animal rights and environmental activism.
