Amita Suman

Amita Suman was born on July 19, 1997, in Parsa, Nepal. At the age of seven, she relocated to Brighton, England. She pursued her theatrical education at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, successfully graduating in 2018. Shortly after completing her training, Suman began her television career with appearances in British productions.

Her early career included minor roles in series such as “Casualty” and “Ackley Bridge” in 2018. That same year, Suman took on a guest role as a young Umbreen in the “Doctor Who” series 11 episode “Demons of the Punjab.” From 2019 to 2021, she held a recurring role as Naya in The CW series “The Outpost,” appearing in 14 episodes. A significant career milestone occurred in October 2019 when she was cast as Inej Ghafa in the Netflix fantasy series “Shadow and Bone.” She maintained this main role for 16 episodes across two seasons, running from 2021 to 2023. In 2022, she appeared in “The Sandman” as Nora for one episode.

Suman’s career has continued to progress with forthcoming projects. She is cast in “NCIS: Tony & Ziva” as Claudette Caron, a main role spanning 10 episodes in 2025. Additionally, she is set to appear in the Netflix political thriller “Hostage” as Dr. Maya Odari for three episodes in 2025. Her work demonstrates a consistent commitment to diverse roles across major television platforms.
