Ana Konjuh, born on December 27, 1997, in Dubrovnik, Croatia, developed into a significant figure in professional tennis from a young age. Her junior career was marked by notable achievements, including winning both the singles and doubles junior events at the Australian Open in January 2013. This success led her to attain the No. 1 position in the ITF Junior world rankings. Later in 2013, she further cemented her status by winning the girls’ singles event at the US Open. By 2014, Konjuh transitioned to the main tour and quickly made an impact, breaking into the top 100 players globally at just 16 years old.

In 2015, Konjuh secured her first singles title on the WTA Tour at the Nottingham Open, distinguishing herself as the youngest player to win a main tour event since 2006. Her career progression continued in 2016 when she reached her first major quarterfinal at the US Open, defeating several higher-ranked opponents. This performance elevated her ranking significantly, moving from world No. 92 to No. 52.
