Petrolhead André Lotterer is a professional racing driver, who competes in the FIA Formula E Championship for Avalanche Andretti. Best known for his success in endurance racing with the Audi team, he has clocked up three 24 Hours Le Mans victories as well as the drivers’ title of the FIA World Endurance Championship, and the 2011 title of the Japanese Super Formula series.
Born in Germany and in Belgium, Lotterer started racing at a young age, going on to win the Formula BMW Junior Series in 1998, and the Formula BMW ADAC series the following year. He then moved up through the various classes, successfully competing in Formula 3, FIA GT, Formula Nippon, Super GT, and A1 Grand Prix. He served as a reserve driver for Jaguar Racing in Formula 1 in 2002, and returned to the class in 2014 for Caterham F1 as a replacement driver for the 2014 Belgian Grand Prix. He then concentrated on his Formula E career.
